Bachelor in Physics from the University of Brasilia (1982) and obtained his Masters (1985) and doctorate (1992) in physics from the Brazilian Center for Research in Physics. Currently Associate Research at CBPF. Interested in theoretical research in Physics of Particles and Fields, concentrating on the study of gauge theories. Symmetries and their violation in these theories are the subject of his recent research, focusing on the analysis of the consistency of chiral gauge theories, their renormalizability and unitarity, including violation of Abelian gauge symmetry in case of two dimensions and in arbitrary dimensions, and defects in non-Abelian gauge theories.
