SBF-APS (U.S.A.)

There is a joint program between the American Physical Society and the Brazilian counterpart, the Sociedade Brasileira da Fisica for funding research visits between researchers (whether students, postdocs or professors) in the U.S.A. and in Brazil. Newton Fund (United Kingdom)

There is a joint program between the Brazilian Conselho Nacional das Fundações Estaduais de Amparo à Pesquisa (CONFAP) and the UK National Academies for funding research collaborations between researchers in the United Kingdom and in Brazil. RBI (Ireland)

Research Brazil Ireland (RBI) (this link does not seem to work anymore) funds some research collaborations between researchers in Ireland and in Brazil.

Canada-Brazil Awards

The government of Canada regularly offers scholarships for exchanges between a Canada-based team and a Brazil-based team of researchers and graduate students. The last call had a deadline of April 30, 2015 - see the details here. The next call might not happen for a while.

Capes/FCT (Portugal)

There is a joint program between the Brazilian agency Capes and the Portuguese agency Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) for funding research collaborations between researchers in Ireland and in Brazil. CNPq (General)

The Brazilian agency CNPq has various agreements for research collaborations with various countries. See here (in Portuguese).

Capes (General)

The Brazilian agency Capes funds bilateral agreements for research collaborations between Brazilian institutions and non-Brazilian ones. See here (in Portuguese).

Marie Curie Action (European Union)

One of the European Commission's Marie Curie Actions used to be the so-called International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES), which funded collaborations between European Union organizations and organizations of other countries, including Brazil. Updated versions of IRSES might be coming up. There is also the COFUND scheme, with an application deadline of September 29, 2016, see here .
