Graduate in Physics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1996) and Ph.D. in physics from the Brazilian Center for Research in Physics (2001). He is currently Associate Researcher at CBPF. Has experience in the areas of astronomy and physics, with emphasis on cosmology, acting on the following topics: gravitational lensing, galaxy clusters, dark matter and energy, and quartessence formation large-scale structure. He is a member of the international Dark Energy Survey collaboration. Coordinates the SOAR Gravitational Arc Survey and Brazilian participation in the CFHT Stripe-82 Survey.
