This page contains my project to study the interference between ressonances of the D → πππ. The goal is study the model based on the Isobar approach to study where the interference between resonance can 'visually' describe the pattern of LHCb data seen in different regions of the Dalitz plot.
The Dalitz plot of data with ~ 97% purity (old bdt, pidK cut, and without efficiencies) is:
Observe the rich ressonance structure where one clearly can see some proeminent resonances like ρ(770) and f0(980). Furthermore, other resonances occupy the same region of high momentum pions like ρ(1450) and f2(1270) and, on the other hand, lower momentum, as the decay product of f2(1525), for instance.
Once there is region in the DP highly populated with presences of more than two ressonances, in a relatively small region of the phase space, it is valuable to have a schematic tool which allows visual inspection of the interference between the ressonances. We start by cataloging the currently avaliable resonances on Rio. The figure below shows each resonance alone, without interference, background and acceptance effects.
