ABSTRACT: Through the action of gravity, mass is responsible for shaping
the universe. But where does mass come from?
Surprisingly, we are close to being able to start a search for hte
Higgs boson. This is the quantum of a field wich is believed to
permeate the universe and whose interaction with particles is
whaat we call "mass".
I will describe the D) detector wich is about to start taking data
inn March, and outline the experimental program and how we will
search for the Higgs and other new particles.
